What to expect when you see an optometrist

The Optometry Board of Australia has published a guide to help the public know what to expect when visiting a registered optometrist. The guide provides information about safe, effective and professional treatment, and outlines the Board’s expectations of good care that takes individual needs into account.

The guide contains information for members of the public on what to do if they need to make a complaint or report a concern to the Board or one of our co-regulators.

The Board works with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to regulate optometrists and its role is to protect the public. All optometrists must be registered with the Board to practise in Australia.

Download your copy of the guideline now.
